Rethinking Recess - WSJ.com

Nothing techie here, but the Wall Street Journal ran a great article in October on the recent push to garner more playtime for students in our nation's schools. More playtime may be hard to carve from the many other mandates that face schools, but it's well worth the benefits to student creativity, intellectual development, socialization, and health.

Here's a Writely document containing my abstract and links presented at the 2006 Great Plains Alliance for Computers in Writing Conference in Mankato, MN. The point was simply to feature several Flickr mashups that are of use in the writing classroom (and many other classrooms!) and to articulate sevral methods for incorporating these tools into the class.
